چكيده لاتين :
The present paper is an analytical review paper which briefly explains and analyses the recent experimental and modeling studies on air dehumidification process. What it has been considered is that in spite of oldness of studies in this field, it is very difficult to say which of the presented empirical correlations or proposed models has enough accuracy, comprehensiveness and perfection for designing purposes. Also the unreliable validation of the presented models is another problem. Jn other words the shortages and weaknesses of models which arise due to applying empirical correlations, simplifications and non-validated assumptions are corrected, covered or justified by the errors of empirical correlations such as correlations used for predicting the wetted area and heat and mass transfer coefficients. Unfortunately, nowadays it is seen that the exact and attractive subject, mathematical modeling, is deviated because of the using of wrong methods in models validation, especially in studies on gas-liquid systems. So it is absolutely neccssary to work out the accuracy of the empirical correlations to predict the wetted area, liquid holdup, heat and mass transfer coefficients and pressure drop in such systems, including the dehumidification processes. This will be achieved based on a precise investigation on a same operation and physical conditions and comparison of the results of different correlations in prediction of required tower height and pressure drop.
