Simulation and Study on the Effect of Changing the Operating Parameters on Gas Sweetening Unit of Arak Refinery and Feasibility and Economical Research on Replacement of DGA with MEA

In this paper, gas sweetening process of Arak Refinery is simulated by using a process simulator. In this unit, Di-glycol Amine (DGA) which is imported from overseas for gas sweetening is used. Using the simulation, effect of changing important parameters such as, inlet temperature as amine solution on the process are studied and output results are compared with real operating condition in the refinery. Finally, using the obtained results, feasibility of replacement of the DGA with Mono- Ethanol Amine (MEA) with optimized solution concentration and its economical benefit are studied.
