Criteria for Recognizing Sadr Ul-Motaalehinʹs Ultimate Viewpoint in Philosophical Issues

Sadr Ul-Motaalehin does not always propound explicitly his own ultimate viewpoint in philosophical argumentations, but rather he presents his viewpoints in such a way that the reader cannot reach to his intention without being fully conversant with theological wisdom. Thus, this article tends to provide the ground for Sadr Ul-Motaalehinʹs ultimate intention. One of these criteria is to apply the philosophical bases and the principles of theological wisdom. This is to say that his view on an issue when compatible with the principles of theological wisdom is considered as his ultimate view. Another criterion is to heed the different stages of his philosophical life, because his viewpoint in one stage differs from the previous ones. Besides, the study of these views sounds to be effective in recognizing his ultimate viewpoint. As the last word, it should be stated that in the last stage of his philosophical life, whenever the philosophical views contradicted the religious teachings, Sadr Ul-Motaalehin attempts to whether justify this contradiction through harmonizing the philosophical issues with religious teachings or as the last choice prefers religious views to philosophical ones.
