Analyzing and Comparing the Concept Network in Persian LIS Subjcct Headings Persian LIS Literature Based on Domain Analysis

Retrieval of relevant information is the ultimate aim of knowledge organization and it is dependent on storage. Since each domain is presented in its texts, the classification system concepts have to match the texts concepts. This study compares the concept network of Persian Subject Headings with the Persian library and information science literature though content analysis. Statistical population consisted of 392 books and 782 papers published during 2002-2006, Through systematic sampling 99 books and 197 papers were selected. The findings indicate that the concept network of books and papers are different. Moreover, there is a significant difference between the concept network of LIS literature with that of the Persian Subject Headings. Therefore, the structure of the Persian Subject Headings concept network has to be reviewed and modified.
