In order to increase productivity and thus achieve a competitive advantage for stable endurance in the business world, most organizations focus their major attention on solving the systematic problems. The variation of the issues and barriers an organization may be faced with require the use of different methodologies. It is not a long time since this approach has been applied in Iran and its achievements has led to business prosperity. Due to the lack of research on the topic of the penetration of the Six Sigma methodology and its results in Iran, the need for such research is felt. This paper indicates which fields of Six Sigma have been considered in Iran and which of them still need to be developed. The essay analyzes the remarkable financial benefits of the use of this methodology in Iran and compares it to the benefits experienced in other parts of the world where this methodology has been implemented. The results show that, on average, the financial benefit of Six Sigma projects in Iran is about 1,705,000,000 Rial per annum. This investigation also finds that the sigma level has developed as much as one sigma after applying this methodology, resulting in a considerable decrease in the number of product defects.
