چكيده لاتين :
The purpose of this research was to explore the imapact teaching problem solving skill on improving the achievement motivation and adjustment of high school student in the Educational District One in Tehran during the academic year 85-86. The sample included 30 student who were selected by a multi-stage random clustering method. Due to the drop out of the subjects, the experimental and control groups were respectively reduced to 11 and 13 individuals. Pretest and post-test method was used to measure the impact of teaching problem solving skill. The experimental group took part in eight sessions aimed at teaching problem solving skills. The High school studen t ʹs adjustment test and achievement motivation test (based on sentences completing) were the instruments used in this research. To analyze the data, t-test was applied for the independent groups.The results showed: 1) Teaching problem - solving skills were not influential in the achievement motivation promotion; 2) teaching problem solving skills were not influential in studentʹs adjustment promotion in the social; 3) Teaching problem - solving skills affected positively on the studentʹs adjustment in educational; 4) Teaching problem - solving skills were not influential in student emotional adjustment; 5) Teaching problem - solving skills had an overall positive effect.
