On the Geomorphologic Hazards of Slide by Anbalagan Model in Shahid Madani Dam, North of Tabriz

On the northeast of Tabriz a dam is constructed called Shahid Madani Dam. The area of reservoir with respect to final height of level of reservoir(1504 m) is 57.46 square kilometer and its perimeter is 470 Km. The geology of dam and its reservoir belong to Upper Red Formation which is alternatively of marl and sandstone of Miocene Period. Evaporated sediments outcropped in somewhere of study area. With respect to alternative layers, joints, cracked sandstones and also inclination of strata seems instabilities of around the reservoir will be increased after water filling. Landslide is the important instability which can be occurred after filling. Topographic maps with scale 1:50000 and geologic maps with scale 1:100000 have been used for attend to aim of study. Also aerial photos 1:40000, satellites image of ETM+ of landsat year 2001 and images of Pan of IRS-ID have been used for attending to aim. Field studies have been done for increasing accuracy of results. With considering the property of model of Anbalagan which one of factors is underground water, and after filling of the dam will be increased because of jointed and cracked sandstones, this model have been used for indicating and classification of hazardous sites of dam and its reservoir. Factors of this model are as follow: geology, slope geometry, topography, land use, land cover, underground water. The results have been shown that high risk sites from point of landslides are near the dam. So, each landslide can be caused to wave and crash in the wall of dam with clay core.
