A Survey of the Atmospheric Water Vapor Trend of Iran During the Last Half Century

In the last decades climate change as a result of global warming has been one of the fundamental discussions among scientists. In this respect a lot of studies have been performed on temperature changes in different regions than the other atmospheric elements. As the atmospheric water vapor plays an important role in energy balance of the planet, is an important factor for explaining climate change. In this survey, in order to detect linear trends of water vapor a regression model applied to time series of water vapor pressure using least squire method. The results showed that atmospheric water vapor (Jan 1951 till dec 2000) has been decreased during the last half century. Meanwhile positive trends could be seen in southern coast of the country, and negative trends could be seen in mountainous areas. Although, water vapor trend of Iran is not identical in different months of a year.
