Political Participation in a Regime Based on the Juristʹs Absolute Authority

Political participation has some consequences for every regime: the efficacy and stability of the political regime always require its recognition and approval by people, because they play the most important role in efficacy of their political regimes. From religious viewpoint and in democratic regimes, however, people have a prominent role in realization and efficacy of the legal power and religious authority. Now, what does political participation mean in reality? Can we regard the regimes in which religious scholars are merely overseers and the overall policy is conducted through general supervision of religion as religious regimes? Can the religious regimes and the regimes in which the social and political policies are subordinate to religion, especially the religious regimes based on the absolute authority of a jurist, be democratic? How does peopleʹs participation realized in such regimes? This paper has been written to answer these questions.
