Sociability is the process of norm and value transformation from the society to the individual. In this process, the role of the mass media in transformation of values from society to the individual is undeniable. The question at this moment is that basically can mass media - such as television and journal - be an appropriate tool to transform religious content? And to what extent can it transform the religious values and norms of society to the individual? It seems that the dominant view of television watchers is to be entertained not to learn. In this situation, the function that television can have in religious awareness and attitudes is more a "reinforcement" function rather than creating or changing function. This view might be somehow generalized to the function of press. Even though compared with television, press has more capacity to present serious and thought-provoking matters, but in reflecting religious matters its function might be close to television. Overall it can be said: media can have a positive role on individualʹs sociability and serve as an effective and efficient tool to promote exalted human values and develop moral merits. Thus it can be said: mass media can have an effective role on the process of transformation of religious values and norms from society to the individual and the function of media in sociability is a reinforcement function.
