The School of Cultural Studies

"Cultural studies" are a considerable body of researches, views, methods, attitudes and critical activities in the sphere of humanities and social sciences, originated by some social thinkers and under special cultural-social circumstances in United States and some other European countries from 1960 s on. Cultural studies is neither a new academic discipline nor a dispersed and heterogeneous collection, but rather an interdisciplinary field, linking different attitudes, domains, and methods in the form of a new synthetic template. Today, the ʹcultural studiesʹ has become one of the immense academic disciplines with its different spheres in academic centers, and is increasing in depth and scope day by day. This paper investigates the activities of the English branch of ʹcultural studiesʹ as the epicenter of this worldwide trend.
