Political Participation and Its Role in Providing the National Security

A glimpse of the history of human societies shows that national security is always of particular importance. But in every period, according to conditions, there have been differences in interpreting the limitations and tools of preserving security, to the extent that the "security" has been one of the issues discussed by thinkers from the period of the florescence of ancient Greece up to modern times, each of them considering the establishment of security and guaranteeing it by the governments as a necessary prerequisite for realizing justice and enforcing laws. Some questions are posed here: is there any relationship between peopleʹs political participation and national security? Is there any correlation between the variables of participation and national security? Do sex, religion, and ethnicity affect the rate of participation and national security? The results of the research show that there is a correlation between national security and political participation; and the more the national security is threatened and endangered, the more the peopleʹs political participation is increased in society. This paper, aiming at explaining the relationship between political participation and its role in national security in studentsʹ view, is stating the results of a survey in this regard.
