Feminism and the Functions of the Family

Family can be regarded as one of the most important spheres of the social life, having a great effect on human life, especially on womenʹs life. Therefore, despite cultural differences, thinkers have considered and theorized on the institute of family. The feminist movement, having entered various scientific spheres with a claim to defend womenʹs rights, has considered and reviewed the family sphere and its functions with the same view. This paper has enumerated five important sociological functions of the family from a feminist point of view. The documentary and theoretical approach to this issue as well as explaining the feminist view on family is among the writerʹs goals in this paper.
