The Special Privileges of the Poets of Ahlu - al-Bayt

Writing poetry is an art which has many useful and constructive effects. The pure Imams wrote poetry on wise issues, through which they sought to attract peoplesʹ attention to the true path. Their poems included admonitions, commended noble moral attributes and devalued vices. Some Shiʹi poets were God-gifted. The religious poetry which is inspired from the Qurʹan and from the words and conduct of the Prophet and his Household are of lasting significance - thanks to the enduring Islamic faith, from which this religous poetry is inspired. The poets of Ahlu al-Bayt, who made known good qualities to people and mangified divine rituals and ceremonies, invited people to follow the example of great religious figures. Through the magificent poetry which they wrote, these poets were able to make peopleʹs hearts lean towards these leading figures. Consequently, the poets of Ahlu al-Bayt received high praise from the pur Imams for their remarkable cotribution.
