The Role of Police Management in Maintaining Security After Releasing The Results of Votes on Iran Parliament Elections

Elections are among the routes through which democracy can be fulfilled. Despite the preparations maintained by the authorities for holding safe elections, sometimes conflicts may emerge. The present paper tries to determine whether police managers and authorities can act well to lessen the probable damages resulting from releasing the results of votes on Iran parliament elections. The research is a field study. The population consists of I.R.I police experts working to maintain security of the elections. Questionnaire was used to gather the required data. Interview and document investi­gation were also applied. The results demonstrated that understanding election behaviors of people and cooperation of people with the police would result in the order and security after the results of the election are released.
