Study of the Relationship between Prevailing Needs of Teachers and Their Educational Performance

Education is a significant factor in overall development. A factor that deals with educational efficiency and can influence it is the satisfaction or dissatisfaction of the prevailing needs of most teachers and its impact on educational performance of teachers. The purpose of this research is to recognize the prevailing needs of teachers in various levels and their educational performance in the educational organization in the Kurdistan province. In order to investigate the prevailing needs of teachers and their educational performance, the relationship among different levels of prevailing needs of primary, guidance and high school teachers along with their educational performance were investigated. Because of the expanded nature of the population which includes all teachers in Kurdistan, teachers were chosen based on geographical regions through cluster sampling, based on course of study through categorical sampling and systematic random sampling. Finally, 400 teachers were selected. In order to gather data and information, the researchers used documents, questionnaires, available data and standard questionnaire of 60 items having reliability coefficient of 87.53. In order to analyze the data SPSS was utilized. The tests were: non-parametric (%2) test, independent T-test and ANOVA. The findings showed that in general, among Mas lowʹs hierarchy of needs self-respect and self-actualization had priority. The percentage of successful students in guidance school was higher than that of primary and high school students. There was not a significant relationship between the self-respect need of guidance school teachers and their educational performance; there was not a significant relationship between self-respect and self-actualization of teachers and their educational performance; there was a significant relationship between prevailing needs of male and female teachers.
