A study of the relationship between child abuse and depression among out-patients at counseling center in Isfahan

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between different types of cild abuse (physical,emotional,sexual and neglect)by parents and depression among out-pations at counseling center in Esfahan.Besides,it explores how much different types of maltreatment could account for depression.In doing so ,131 subjects were randomly selected from depressed out­patients during 1384-1385. To collect data ,the Beckʹs depression and Mohammad- Kaniʹs self -report maltreatment questionnaires were used.The results of this study indicated that emotional,physical and sexual maltreatment,repectively account for 23./.,27./.,and 32./. of variance in depression among the subjects.
