چكيده لاتين :
Morphology of matrix/reinforcement interface in steel reinforced composites with pure aluminum and A356 alloy matrices was investigated in the recent research. According to the results, the wettability of steel fibers by pure aluminum & A356 alloy was desirable that it was a result of aluminum matrix high tendency to react with steel fibers. However presence of silicon in the matrix effectively retards the formation of reaction layer such that formation of reactive layer in cast A356 matrix composites was possible only by long time heat treatment. By studying the heat treated specimens it was understood that presence of silicon in the matrix, other than lessening the thickness of reactive layer, changes the morphology of reactive layer from indented shape in the pure aluminum matrix to flat shape in A356 alloy matrix. According to diffusion-control mechanism of reactive layer growth, it was indicated that growth of this layer in A3 56 alloy matrix composites follows the equation x = 1.07t. According to line analysis of the reaction layer in composites, it seems that the reaction layer consists of different types of intermetallic compounds
