Qeshm island is the Largest one in Persian Gulf, seperated from mainland by Khour - Khoran or Clarence strait. Mangrove forest which is a particular coastal ecosystem, streches in northwest of the island. The forest is made, essentially, of shrobs, some of them reaching a maximum hieght of 5 meter. There is only one species of Mangrove "Avicenia marina", also named "Harra" by natives. To perfrom sedimentologic and mineralogic studies, accurate location of sampling stations were precisely fixed. Sampling was accomplished in two consecutive cold and warm seasons. In the seam time, physico - chemical characteristics of water, including temperature, salinity, conductivity, pH and disolved oxygen are also measured. Diameter of sedimentary particles (grain size analysis) are indicated by hydrometry with Lazer rays. Carbonate content of samples are also measured. Total organic matter, for each sample and its variations in cold and warm seasons are accurately specified. Mineralogic studies, carried out by diffractometry of X rays (x.R.D) have supplied valuable resaults of mineralogic composition of sediments. In sum, abundance of Calcite, Dolomite and Quartz, and rareness of clay minerals are shown. In the base of grain size analysis, two kinds of substrates, including silty clay and coarse clay, are designated for Mangrove environment
