Fruit and leaf characterises including leaf morphology and fruit physical and chemical characters of 22 edible fig and 11 caprifig genotypes grown in different regions of Fars Province including Estahban, Abesard-e-Khafr, Morvarid Darab. and Dost iran Kazerun were studied during 1998 to 2001. Data collected from three trees classified all genotypes as Izmir groups that need caprification for fruit formation. Five edible fig genotypes were suitable for dry fruit and the remainings were suitable for fresh fruit consumption. Results of cluster analysis showed maximum similarity (84%) between Kharfak and Payves cultivars and minimum similarity (42%) between Torshook and Alamee Siah cultivars. Sabz cultivar in Estahban and Payves cultivar in
Dost iran Kazerun being pollinated, were the most the most important cultivars for dry fig.
