چكيده لاتين :
Background and Aim: To consider the importance of self-esteem 0n students and knowing that self-esteem is the cause of transaction with others, also it causes positive self imagination and a good self concept which causes student successfulness, this study was conducted with the aim of measuring the effectiveness of enhancing girl studentsʹ self-esteem. Materials and Methods: In this semi-experimental study which was designed on 2006, random sample selection method and educational intervention of "Enhancing Self-Esteem" was applied. The samples were girl students of primary school selected randomly from west of Tehran city. 29 first grade students were selected randomly as case group and 31 as control group. A pretest was conducted on all the students in the beginning and after 9 weeks they were interviewed by using POPE scale. Then the educational program was conducted in 18 sessions during 9 weeks included theoretical and educational workshop to show the correct behaviors in the areas of appreciating yourself, control anger and taking responsibility carried out. After 6 months, a post test performed and the data were analyzed by SPSS software and statistical test such as T-test, chi-square and logistic regression applied (P=0.05). Results: Statistical analysis of pre and post test showed that education significantly improved self-esteem of the students (P<0.05). The differences between the growth rate of self-esteem in control group during half a year was 1.1± 3.6 and in the case group during educational intervention 4.3±3.7 that this is statistically significant (P<0.000). The Case group in compare with the control group has had a positive and successful increase. Conclusion: The results showed the effective and positive role of educational intervention on improving self -esteem of the grade one students.
