Studying the Relationship between Geographic Bases and the Distribution of Rural Settlements in the Arid Regions (A Case Study :the villages of Khoorobeyabanak county of Naein city )

This article aims to study the relationship between the geographic bases and the distribution of rural settlements in the arid regions of : the villages of khour & Biabanak county of Naein city. From the view point of the method used and the nature, uses the correlation coeffcient method and library, documentary and field information and deta. The geographic bases generally are classified in two groups:natural bases and human bases and constituted of many variables including, forty nine natural, economic, social, infrastructural and service variables have been studied in this study. Although it seems that the natural and infrastructural bases like water resources, road network and... are among the important factors in the distribution of rural settlements but the findings of this study showed that the human bases like the ratio of the number of the employed people to total population ( the number of occupation opportunities) has a more important role in the distribution of rural settlements in the arid regions. Population, households number and secondary schools are also among the important variables in sorting and classifying the rural settlements in the arid regions according to service utilities which must paid attention in the development planning of rural paets of arid regions.
