Rafael Capurroʹs Conceptual Approach to Information

Rafael Capurro defines the concept of information from a philosophical standpoint. According to Capurro. information is an equivocal concept. He criticizes persuasive, lexical and ostensive definitions of the word and pays more attention to the historicity and temporality of it. Capurro tries to define information with regard to Heideggerʹs existential hermeneutics. According to Capurro, information is a dimension of human existence that roots in Daseinʹs "being-in-the-world-with-othersʹ\ Therefore, information is prior to any separation between subject and object; a separation that has been the principle of modern thought since Descartes. Rather, Capurro says that information is dependent to the horizons of meanings in which Dasein is embedded. With regard to this existential analysis, Capurro emphasizes on hermeneutic-rhetoric character of information science; Angeletics in his own terms.
