Effects of time, number and tools of second tillage on Barnyard grass (E *hin chloa c us-galli L) p( mlation in ʹ ice Paddy at West Mazandaran

In order to investigation of effects of the time, number and tools of second tillage on Barnyard grass (Echinochloa crus-galli L.) population control in Rice Paddy placed on the west of Mazandaran, an experiment was conducted in 2004 in Tonekabon Rice Research Station with a factorial experiment in base on randomized complete block design with three replicates. Three factors were comprised time of second tillage (one and two times) and tools of second tillage (Rast kawl related tiller and equipped with iron wheels and rotivator), on rice Binam cultivar. Results showed that the effects of the tools of tillage time (a=0.01), tillage number (a=0.01), tools x tillage number (a=0.01), tillage time x tillage number (a=0.01) and triple interaction of tools, time and tillage number of Barnyard grass (15 days after transplanting) were significant. Thus the effects of tillage number, interaction of tools on tillage number and interaction of time on tillage number on Barnyard grass dry weight (before rice harvesting) were significant (a=0.01). Effects of tillage tools on Barnyard grass dry weight percentage (30 days after transplanting) 1% level of probability was significant. Effects of tillage number on tillage tools and interaction of time on tillage number on Barnyard grass dry weight percentage (before rice harvesting) was significant.
