A Comparative Look at Satire and Satirizing in Iran and Arab Literature

The present article is a comparison between Iran and Arabʹs satire. Obeid Zakaniʹs satire -as an Iranian satire- has been compared to an Arabic one. Satire is a kind of prelude in which we can taunt, defeat or reveal someoneʹs weak points easily. In Arabic literature, the poet tries to defeat a person or tribe by using satire in his poetry. Satireʹs aim is not "laughʹʹ; it is a means of expressing and transferring the aim of writer to the reader in a better way.
