Because of increasing competitiveness within todayʹs Industries, the importance of researches related to the development and implementation of strategies as competitive advantages is growing. The jump of change rate in manufacturing firmsʹ external and internal environment, necessitates to pay more attention to strategic planning in such firms. Strategic planning plays a key role in the success of organizations within the competitive environments. This kind of planning, is the process of aligning the organizational activities with its environment which results in business excellence if implemented correctly. Big, small and medium sized organizations are responsible for the economical activities in todayʹs world. In recent years the roles of small and medium sized organizations are more significant. There are differences between the processes, resources and the performance of SMEs and larger organizations as well as strategic planning. So in this paper we pursue the goal of proposing an integrated strategic planning model to develop strategies for SMEs as well as showing the contribution of operation research in strategic planning.
