Preventing an Offense in the Quranʹs View

The holy Quran has presented unique and comprehensive teachings for preventing offense and eradicating it; these teachings include the following types of prevention: reformatory, positive and punitive. According to Quranic teachings, the offenses and crimes and the social deviations and abnormalities may not be prevented by just one of these methods; rather, all of the three methods should be applied together to achieve this goal. Since the Quran is a book for guiding human beings, while considering other types of prevention as necessary methods, it lays special stress on corrective prevention and reconstructing the criminalsʹ characters, and on the whole, it stresses the importance of directing all human beings towards a high rank of perfection, morality and spirituality.
