A Brief Look at the Bill of Social Punishments

Prison, whose foundation once constituted a sign of honor for the rulers and criminologists, has turned out to be a crisis today because of being unsuccessful in fulfilling its mission in view of an anomalous increase in number of prisoners, and the prisonʹs turning into a school for learning felonious acts. This has caused the criminologists to think of punishments which are void of bad effects of prison, having a greater role in reforming and social reconstruction of the offenders. The social punishments are a new form of punishment exacted through participation of people and civil institutions, and are going to be applied in our country. The present paper explains these types of punishments, reviewing the requirements for exacting them.
