This article is principally aimed at examining the relationships among psychological empowerment, focus of control, and the organizational commitment among the police personnel. The study adopts survey and description as the methodology and is of the mixed (qualitative - quantitative) type. Reliability of the questionnaire was estimated at 0.73 for empowerment, 0.76 for focus of control, and 0.71 for the organizational commitment as the Cronbach alpha revealed. The statistical society comprises the entire police personnel in the city of Mehran; and 256 subjects were chosen out of 755 individuals as the statistical sample by means of Morgan table. On the basis of Pearson correlation coefficients, there is a positive relation between empowerment factors and the organizational commitment. Similarly, degree of correlation between the factor of autonomy and the organizational commitment is significant (p<0.05, r= 0.240). The relation between the factor of qualification and the organizational commitment is, based on the correlation coefficient, negative and reverse (p>0.05, r= 0.007); but this relation is not significant in terms of level of significance because the level of significance is above 0.05. On the basis of Pearson correlation coefficients, there is a negative relation between the focus of control and the organizational commitment. The relations between focus of control and the affective commitment (P<0.001, r= 0.662) and between focus of control and normal commitment (P= 0.447, P<0.01) are negative and significant. Likewise, based on the results of B column, it can be stated that focus of control (P=0.45) had the most impact on the degree of organizational commitment of people. On the other hand, level of significance of the variable "focus of control" (Sig=0.002) is less than 0.05, implying that this variable has a significant effect on the organizational commitment.
