  • چكيده لاتين
    The goal of the present study was to compare the social skills and behavior problems of the girls and boys with Down syndrome. The subjects were 7 to 12 years old children with Down syndrome in special schools of Tehran. Random cluster sampling method was used. Questionnaires were given to the teachers of 129 children with Down syndrome (58girls & 71 boys). Gresham & Elliot social skills rating system questionnaire was used For assessing the social skills and behavior problems. The results of t-test of were as the followings: There was a significant difference between the scales cooperation, assertion, self-control, extraversion and hyperactivity (p<0.001). There was no significant difference between girls and boys in introversion scale (p=0.42). It can be concluded that among children with Down syndrome, girls are more socially-skilled than boys; and boys have more behavior problems.
