A Study of Molaviʹs Mystical Language Based on Peirceʹs Theories

Modern critical approaches are not frequently applied to Persian texts, while these texts can present a great opportunity to analyze theories and find new ways to comment upon literary language. Charles Sanders Peirce who is considered as one of the founders of semiology has divided signs into three classes: iconic, symbolic and indexical. Molaviʹs poetry has such great depth of meaning that many approaches can be applied to it. Applying Peirceʹs theories to Molaviʹs poetry not only helps with the analysis of Molaviʹs idea but can also be of help in understanding the application of the theory and how it works.
