A Comparison of the Viewpoints of the People of Mashhad and Islamic Experts about the Importance of Religiosity Dimensions and Criteria

This article aims at replying these three questions: 1. The extent to which the dimensions of religiosity are important to people and experts. 2. Difference in degree of the importance of religiosity dimensions between these two viewpoints. 3. Difference between the viewpoints of people and experts concerning the degree of importance of religiosity criteria. The research method is "survey" and the statistical society includes all those over 15 years old belonging to the families of Mashhad and sampling number is 464 people.Basic tenets of faith, secondary principles of religion, obligations, prohibitions, ethics, preferable religious acts, and detested things are the most significant dimension of religiosity in the two viewpoints. People have attached less importance to the secondary principles of religion and more importance to the preferable religious acts and detested things than did the experts; in other instances there is a meaningful difference.
