Faculty development and improving their educational performance

Faculty development is a relatively new topic that has attention of the higher education systems of developed countries. Faculty development has positive effects on improvement of the Faculty memberʹs educational performance. This article has examined the effects of the Faculty development on improving their educational performance and other duties the colleges of education and psychology sciences in Alzahra, Tarbiat Modares, Tehran, Shahid Beheshti, Alameh Tabatabaee, public Universities. This research is a descriptive survey and its population has been members of the Faculty of the above mentioned colleges. The data of research were gathered by researcher_made questionnaire. Then data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics (one sample T-Test, Kolmogorov-smirnov test). The results indicated that: 1. Attendance of members of faculty in internal and international seminars has positive effects on improving their educational performance. 2. Translating and authoring books and articles by members of faculty has positive effects on improving their educational performance. 3. Attendance members of faculty in educational workshop have positive effects on improving their educational performance. 4. Conducting research projects by members of faculty has positive effects improving their educational performance. 5. Studying up-to-date sources by members of faculty has positive effects on improving their educational performance.
