Due to joining the private companies to the Iranian Insurance Industry, the necessity of employing effective managers has been increased Emotional intelligence considered as one of the new terms in psychology and organizational behavior. Transformational leadership is one of the new trends in conducting organizations to organization excellence. In the last two decades, lots of researches have been conducted in several countries regarding emotional intelligence and transformational leadership. Understanding these two conceptsʹ relationship requires more studies, especially for economic sectorʹs managers in Iran. This study scrutinizes transformational leadership among the senior managers of Iranian insurance industry, considering the M.A thesis of Allame Tabatabaei University. In this research, emotional intelligence questionnaires are filled by technical managers- in lines of insurance- in state and private companies. The sample consists of 195 subjects who are direct employees of senior managers, and all of them filled the transformational managersʹ questionnaire. After taking the correlation test that based on, the relation of emotional intelligence with transformation leadership indexes where determined and those companies of higher average emotional intelligence and leadership indexes were specified. It was also concluded that private insurance companies has higher average in most indexes.
