Today, manpower is the most important element of any organization. Since all personnel cannot be efficient, it is not advisable to relegate any task to any person; rather, individuals should be selected according to some particular criteria. Here, meritocracy comes on the scene. Meritocracy is "relegating tasks to individuals under some particular conditions, criteria and standards". Surely, meritocracy in Quranic view has some other especial criteria such as faith, piety, knowledge, justice, truthfulness, political discernment and insight, good temperance, leniency and tolerance, stringency, welcoming criticisms, overlooking, generating hope, patience and endurance, all reviewed in the present paper. The present article uses a descriptive-analytical method and research cards to study commentary texts, aiming at extracting the criteria and standards of meritocracy.
