Revival of Iranian Gardens using wisdom principles of Islamic culture

Iraniansʹ approach to knowing the environment and building gardens is formed based on two viewpoints: the region-oriented knowledge of environment and the commitment-oriented one. That is, Iranians have never considered their environment separate from their culture and ideology. Therefore, based on the description of Paradise in the Holy Koran, architects have built gardens in this mortal world with the intention that these gardens would resemble the gardens of Paradise. Besides, the revival of Iranian gardens is related to the wisdom principles of Islamic culture. The present research is an analytic-comparative study which aims at extracting the concepts related to the revival of Iranian environment from Quranic verses, interpretations of the Holy Quran, and foreign touristsʹ itineraries.
