Iran and Britain: The International Exhibition of Iranian Fine Arts in London, 1931

The international exhibition of Iranian fine arts in 1931 was held in the Burlington House of London. It was the second Iranian exhibition aiming to introduce historical and artistic works of Iran. The first Iranian Arts exhibition had been held in 1906 in Philadelphia, but the London exhibition was a great improvement upon the first. In this exhibition, aside from the usual historic and artistic works, many other works already on display in various world museums along with Iranian works possessed in personal collections were exhibited. Art works from other countries were also displayed in order to show the Iranian influence on the arts of various regions. This exhibition received widespread acclaim and turned into one of the greatest Iranian exhibitions of the century.
