MIGRATION TO QUM CITY AND ITS SOCIO-CULTURAL PROBLEMS

Migration to Qum city has caused an increase in urban population, which in turn has created some social and cultural problems. Increase in suburbia and cultural problems, and decrease in security measures from one hand, and concerns of Qum cultural authorities, on retaining the religious identity of Qum on the other hand has caused them to think about some measures to control the migration. Religious believes, faith, attitudes toward heterosexual relationships, among youth respect to law, and propensity to deviant behaviors among domestic population and immigrants were studied. Signification results were obtained for some variables in some cases immigrants showed higher scores or were equal to focal people. The first generation of local and immigrant people showed more respect to cultural and religious believes and behaviors. The second generation, both local and immigrants showed lower scores.
