THE SIGNIFICANCE OF DEMOGRAPHY IN TERRITORIAL PREPARATION PLANNING (Focused on Provincial Immigrations Study)

The emergence of metropolises and regions with high population and also permanent movement and transposition of population within cities and villages requires an accurate understanding about the population distribution and its analysis. Lack of attention to population indices in national and regional policy making and progressing leads to inconsistency of capacity of the region and territory with its population and as a result, creates many problems for achieving a balanced development at national level. The territory preparation is a type of long-term planning for a better distribution of population and economical activities in the field of natural resources in order to promote societal welfare and development. The programming of territory preparation is formed in large and regional levels considering its supplementary role in the developmental programmed activities chain. Regional development is a topic that has drawn the attention of planners, especially regional planners. Reviewing major economical, social, cultural, health indices in different levels especially regional levels, is not only a suitable criterion for determining the position of districts, but also needs special consideration at district level as well as determining terms of national-regional concordance and conformity. In structural planning of regions, not only the number of population, but also its structure and specifications are also taken into consideration, and this gained more significance by lapse of time as a result of fast population growth on territory and cities expansion therefore, demography also settles its presence in most of economic and social planning.
