The purpose, of the present research is to conduct a study on the existing organizational and ideal culture in the views of faculty members of the faculties of physical education located at Tehran city.
The descriptive research methodology is of the type of field study. The statistical community consists of 78 faculty members in faculties of sport science and physical education at the University of Tehran. Teacher Training University and Shahid Beheshti University which were studied. Due to the limitation of community, the statistical sample has been considered the same as that of the community. The questionnaire made by the researcher (reliability 89%) includes two general and exclusive parts . the Exclusive part includes thirty questions at Likert scale to identify the organizational culture in the existing and ideal condition within four prevailing cultures in Deft model which includes entrepreneurship. participatoiy. missionaiy and bureaucratic cultures and four
questions to identify (relation-oriented, duty-oriented, individual-oriented and collective-oriented) cultures.
49 questionnaire was in total responded by faculty members of the faculties of physical education and sport sciences of Tehran city and by using the two- phrase test, the pair t test of Fridman ranking. Pearson test were analyzed. After collecting data, in order to identify the organizational culture in the existing situation, the two-phrase test was used. In the existing situation in faculties of physical education and sport sciences of Tehran city . non of the entrepreneurship. mission-oriented, participatoiy and bureaucratic cultures were prevailing as a dominant culture . Reviewing the views of faculty members in mentioned faculties, in the ideal condition, the cultures of entrepreneurship and participatoiy were considered as dominant cultures. Compared with the fourfold cultures in existing and ideal condition, in the bureaucratic culture with
the obtained t-1.4. there is no meaningful difference and in the
entrepreneurship cultures obtained with t=11.3L missionary with t=12.28
and participatory with t=17.5. there is meaningful difference.
In the existing condition, by using the Fridman ranking from the viewpoint
of the faculty members of the mentioned faculties, the bureaucratic culture
with the average ranking of 3.17 is dominant and in the ideal condition, the
participatory culture with the average ranking of 3.28 and entrepreneurship with average ranking of 2.98 were considered by the members of the statistical community. Among entrepreneurship cultures (missionary and participatory) with the rate of 0.626 and 0.612 and missionary (participatory, bureaucratic) . with the rate of 0.743 and 0.442 and participatory with (bureaucratic) with the rate of 0.361. there was a meaningful relation.
Finally . it can be stated that the dominant culture (in the existing situation ) from the viewpoint of faculty members of the faculties of physical education and sport sciences of Tehran city are individual-oriented, relation-oriented
and relatively bureaucratic oriented cultures . but at the same time , the ideal cultures from their viewpoints are participatory and entrepreneurship culture.
