Comparison between massed and distributed practice in different stages of discrete motor task learning

The purpose of the present study was to comp rating between practice and rest distribution in learning stages of a discrete motor task (throwing dart) during a session. An opportunistic sample of 59 tabriz universities students (right hands and elementary) was recruited as volunteers, being randomly assigned into two groups, Both groups repeated throwing dart for five sessions with two blocks at each session include 10 trials. But under two different conditions: massed and distributed practice. Distributed practice group had ten second rest, but those in massed practice group had no break between trials. Collected data from pre and post-tests analyzed according to independent t- student test. The obtained results showed no statistically significant difference in any of the stages of repeated pre and post -test (p<%5). So, according to the findings of the present study, learning stage can not be considered as effective and significant factor in the rest and practice distribution of dart throwing task. To clarify the subject more and exact researches are recommended.
