The Comparison of Learning Style of Elite Athlete in Cognitive, Perceptual -Motor and Motor Skills

The purpose of the present research was to determine and compare the learning styles of the athletes in different cognitive, motor-perceptual and motor skills. To determine these styles, 27 woman chess players (cognitive skill), 30 woman voileyballists (motor-perceptual) and 26 javelin throwers woman (motor skill) were evaluated using Kolb learning style inventory. The acquired data were analyzed using chi-square test (Exact). The results show that learning styles in the above sports are different. In the cognitive group , learning styles are 20% assimilate , 2% divergent , 5% accommodate.in the motor - perceptual group , 12% assimilate , 10% divergent and 8% convergent and 10% accommodate and finally in the motor group , 8% assimilate , 12% divergent , 6% convergent and 0% accommodate. The result showed that the distributions of learning styles are meaningfully different in these groups: the dominant style in the cognitive and motor - perceptual groups is assimilate while in the motor group the dominant style is divergent.
