Comparative Study of Garshasbʹs Voyages and Alexanders Story

Garshasb Sam Nariman is the indo-Iranian ....-historical and mythical hero whose personality and behavior reflection in non-Iranian and Iranian references before and after Islam confirms his high reputation in ancient times. In these references, he has two religious and heroic characters and does marvelous jobs. One of these references exclusively considers Garshasbʹs character is Gharshasbnameh written by Assadi Tousi. It seems that part of the actions attributed to Garshasb in this collection of verses, i.e. his voyages and seeing wonders of islands of Indian Sea, is an attachment entered Garshasbʹs Story due to some factors since such a voyage has not been attributed to him in any references which reflect his character. In this paper, we try to study one of the factors of entering this additional part to Garshasbʹs story which is in fact Alexanderʹs story as well as comparing prose Eskandarnameh, Alexanderʹs travel in Shahnameh and Nezamiʹs Eskandarnameh.
