The Effect of Operational Parameters on the Production of Fine RDX on Pilot Scale

In this research, micronized particles of RDX were prepared by designing an improved and new mixing system for rapid combination of solvent and antisolvent streams of RDX. By using the mentioned mixer, in addition to very fast combining of streams, the amount of flows can simply be controlled. This method has some advantages such as its capability in industrial process, simplicity of organic solvent recovery, low cost, repeatability, and easy control of effective parameters on the crystallization. In this system, the class E of RDX particles was produced and the quality of products met the requirements of the consuming industries.
