An investigation on springback of double curved sandwich sheet laminates

The most prominent feature of sheet material forming process is an elastic recovery phenomenon during unloading which leads to springback and side wall curl. Therefore evaluation of springback is mandatory for production of precise products. Metal-polymer laminates is an emerging material that has many potential applications. In this study, the springback of sandwich sheet materials after being subjected to double curvature forming has been investigated. Double curvature forming experiments for three-ply laminates consisting of AA3105/polypro-^ pylene/AA3105 has been performed.
