Tillage Tools Effectiveness in Two Types of Fields with and Without Crop Residue

To assess the effective parameters on tillage machine efficiency in two fields with and without crop residue, a study was conducted in summer 2004 in Zarghan Agriculture and Natural Resources Research Center in Fars province. Field experiments were carried out in strriped plot design with three replications. Treatments were three different tillage tools including: mold bold plow, chisel plow and heavy disc. Fuel consumption, draft tolerance, theoretical field capacity, effective field capacity and field efficiency were measured to compare the experimental tillage tools. Results showed that tillage tools had significant difference (P<0.01) in terms of effective field capacity, draft tolerance, drawbar power, drawbar energy and fuel consumption. The fields with and without crop residue had no significant differences in terms of effective capacity, draft, draw bar power, draw bar energy and fuel consumption. Interaction of tillage tools and crop residue did not show significant difference regarding the foregoing factors..
