The problem which is being analyzed in this thesis is: the position of knowledge management in decision makings of school principals of Tehranʹs educational organizations. The reason that this problem is discussed is that: these decisions have direct relation to the future of students and the destiny of our cherished land. Making the wrong decision may ruin the future of humans and can be irreversible. Nowadays, knowledge management and using up to date knowledge, is the most valuable asset of successful companies and organizations around the world, especially educational organizations. The up to date decisions which are made, based on knowledge management, insure the organizationʹs improvement. According to the advantages above, the surveyʹs goals are to identify the effect of knowledge management in choosing personnelʹs of schools, making discipline decisions, making developing decisions, making organizational decisions, making educational decisions, transferring experiences. The survey which has hypothetical-comparing view, studies the correlation, data analysis and hypothetical makings by means of observation, interview, questionnaire and research. The goal is fundamental-functional and the results are useful in improvement of decisions of school principals and making them up to date. The statistical population of survey consisted of 3700 schools from different parts of the city. We used descriptive statistics and parametric tests to analyze the surveyʹs data. The validity of hypothesis is defined by proportion test with significant difference of 95%. The results are that school principals use knowledge management in making their decisions. In order to make better decisions computer sites should be made in all schools and principals should attend on the job training classes to be informed about recent usages of knowledge management, and it is best that principals spend at least 5 years as the supervisor of school before being elected as the principal.
