Gar and Barmfiroz mountains are located in 30° 10 to 30°30 north latitude, and 51 °50 to 52° 10 east longitude at the north west of Fars Province, and distance of 80 kilometers from north-west of Shiraz city.
Topography of this region is mountainous. The Barmfiroz anticline is located in the south of Gar anticline and also Barmfiroz anticline is higher than Gar. Slope gradient is gentle in both north flanks, because, they have overturned formation.
Most of the rocks in this area are cretaceous limestoneʹs and main formation of this rocks is massive limestoneʹs contains more fossil that named sarvak formations. This formation has been made all of Gar and part of Barmfiroz anticline.
In addition to litology and tectonic, grows of plants upon argil us soils produced from solution of limestone,(average annual precipitation 650 mm)and type of precipitation of area(mostly snow)plays an important role in karctification.
This research investigate and analyze some of time-location parameters like geology, tectonic, altitude and climate(water, temperature,...)that all of them have basic design in different karst phenomenon and must pay attention to them in karstic studying so study created karstic features.
More important features of this area are karrens, sinkholes, springs and dry valleys. Significant results of limestone and karst researches in this area, are recognition of special landscape and there effects in attracting and percolation of precipitation and forming of rich aquifers, because, rapid growth of population and increasingly consumption of water resources is basic problem in arid and semi arid zones.
