Because of locating at the end part of Zagros belt, Larestan is an active spot according to exposure to earthquake. Capacities and potentials of this southern part of the country such as adjacency to the fields of importations and exportations of goods, association with the great projects of the exploitation of oil products of Assaluye, Parsian, Dalan, etc have accelerated its present growth and development trend. Thus, it is necessary to have extensive studies on different grounds such as earthquake activities and dangers due to them in the area.
There are different methods for calculating the danger of earthquake occurrence. In this article, we tried to assess the method of earth structure regions with an equal exposure to earthquake and analyze the area under study according to earth structure and earthquake activities. In Zagros earth structure quake area in which Larestan is located, surface layers are flexible and the traces of the faults present at the bottom stone do not appear clearly on the surface and sometimes the surface structure does not reflect the realities. Therefore, we used earth structure quake methods with an equal potential of exposure to earthquake. We modeled the focal depth, earthquake magnitude relation with the return period of calculation and the occurrence of earthquake as a poisson process through analyzing the earthquakes occurred in 1913-1988 in Larestan region. Moreover, Gutenberg relation, Richter, earthquake frequency and magnitude as well as Donovan Attenuation Model were used as a reduction relation and the calculations for the danger of earthquake in Larestan region were offered and finally the earthquake plating for the city was designated by evaluating the earthquake occurred in Lar in 1960.
