The Investigation of Urban Security in Border Cities: The Case Study of Taibad

Security is considered as prerequisite for a salubrious society and feeling of security causes development of human societies and happiness of a society is guaranteed by preserving security and its resultant feeling._Peopleʹs attendance in public places requires their feeling of security. One of the factors threatening peopleʹs attendance in public places is fear or insecurity feeling. Insecurity of public places and spaces hampers vivacity and health and it forces great costs to society by creating obstacles in the way of cultural growth and public participation. The current paper seeks to investigate the extent of social security and social factors effective on security feeling of citizens in border cities of Khorasan Razawi Province, especially Taibad as a model of border cities. The research method is descriptive-analytical and the data is collected through library research and questionnaire use. The data is analyzed and hypotheses are tested by SPSS. Findings indicate that there is significance relationship between feeling of security and indices like social capital, media performance, police forces role, peopleʹ social status and cityʹs physical space. Ultimately, appropriate strategies are recommended for promoting social security of border cities.
